🌸 A Beautiful Celebration of Life: Nanay Au De Leon’s 80th Birthday 🌸
Posted on April 20, 2025 | Oakley Recreation Center
What a joyous day it was as family and friends gathered to celebrate a truly remarkable woman — Aurora “Nanay Au” De Leon — on her 80th birthday. Held at the Oakley Recreation Center, this heartfelt celebration was more than just a party. It was a tribute to a life filled with love, strength, and grace.
4:00 PM – Arrival of Guests
The venue slowly filled with warm smiles, hugs, and laughter as loved ones arrived.
4:15 PM – Welcome Remarks
The celebration began with a heartfelt welcome from our MC, who introduced the star of the evening:
Aurora, affectionately known as Baby, Au, or Aureng, gracefully entered the room, accompanied by her loving children — Ronaldo, Rosa Vilma, Rowena, and Romina.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Aurora is the second daughter of Angelina and Armando of the Olila clan. She married at 24, and her legacy now includes 5 children, 16 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. A standing ovation welcomed our beloved Nanay and Lola into the spotlight.
4:20 PM – Opening Prayer
A beautiful prayer led by Samantha De Leon filled the room with gratitude and blessings.
4:30 PM – Dinner
Dinner was served by table while everyone enjoyed a nostalgic photo and video montage of Lola Aurora’s life, capturing her beautiful journey through the years.
5:30 PM – Debut at 80: The 8 Roses Dance
Though she never had the chance to celebrate her debut at 18, Nanay Au finally lived out her dream — with a twist. Instead of 18 roses, she had her own version of “80 Roses”: a touching dance with 8 of the most important men in her life — her son and grandsons.
Each dance was paired with a special song, creating a heartfelt soundtrack for the evening:
Ronaldo De Leon (son) – “Lights” by Journey
RA De Leon & Rayden (grandson & great-grandson) – “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder
Shawn Agustin (grandson) – “What the World Needs Now is Love” by Jackie DeShannon
Marrian Gutierrez (grandson) – “Through the Years” by Juan Karlos (from Lolo and the Kid)
Marky De Leon (grandson) – “Magsayawan” by VST & Co.
Cid Agustin (grandson) – “Hindi Kita Malimot” by Ric Manrique Jr.
Raian Gutierrez (grandson) – “Through the Years” by Kenny Rogers
Adrian Gutierrez (grandson) – “Naaalala Ka” by Rey Valera
Though her eldest son Rommel De Leon couldn’t be there in person, he sang from the Philippines, making the moment even more emotional.
To honor every decade of Nanay Au’s life, 8 symbolic candles were lit by those dearest to her heart:
Rovi Bautista (eldest daughter) & husband Moses
Rowena Agustin & husband Melvin Agustin
Romina Roque (youngest daughter) & husband Don Roque
Rosh Bautista & granddaughter Kassandra
Gabbie & Maddison (granddaughters)
Ate Helen & Owen
Helen Plondaya
Surprise video greeting from Rommel De Leon, her eldest son in the Philippines
With glowing candles and teary eyes, the room sang a loud and joyful “Happy Birthday” to our radiant celebrant.
Nanay Au gave a heartfelt speech of gratitude, thanking everyone who made her 80th celebration so special.
To wrap up the evening, the family performed a fun intermission number — “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” by ABBA — bringing energy and joy to the room.
And then, it was time for the most awaited part…
The night ended the way it should — with music, laughter, and lots of dancing!
Thank you to everyone who came and helped make Nanay Au’s 80th birthday truly unforgettable. 💕
Here’s to more years of love, laughter, and dancing!
